A useful factory quote starts with drawings, opening sizes, glass notes, hardware expectations, finish choices and packing scope. This guide explains what to send before asking for a project quotation. The goal is to help buyers prepare a clearer project brief before asking for a factory quotation.

1. Start with drawings, schedules or rough sizes

A factory quotation can begin from architectural drawings, a window schedule or rough opening width and height. The most useful schedule shows the opening location, floor level, width, height, quantity, opening direction and preferred system type if known.

If the project is still early, do not wait for perfect files. Send the rough sizes and mark which openings are large, exposed, curved, fixed, sliding or regularly operated. That helps the factory separate standard items from openings that need early system review.

2. Explain the building type and destination

Tell the factory whether the project is a villa, apartment, hotel, showroom, coastal home, builder package or replacement job. Destination country, city, floor height, coastal exposure and installation stage help the supplier avoid recommending one generic system for every opening.

A balcony sliding window in a mild inland city, a large living room door near the coast and a high-floor casement window should not be treated as the same buying problem.

3. Send glass, finish and hardware notes early

If you already know double glazing, Low-E, laminated glass, acoustic glass, powder coat color, handle color or hardware preference, include it in the first inquiry. If you are unsure, describe the climate, noise, safety or comfort problem you want to solve.

This gives the supplier a useful direction without locking every detail too early. A serious quote should show which parts are fixed, which parts are optional and which items need local project review.

4. Include delivery target and packing expectations

For overseas projects, delivery target, trade term, container planning and packing expectations affect the final quotation. Clear labels, packing lists and installation references help builders and installers identify each opening after shipment.

If the order will go to a warehouse, builder site or mixed project address, tell the factory early. Packing and labeling should support the receiving process, not become a problem after the goods are finished.
