A practical checklist for checking aluminium window and door samples before bulk production: profile, finish, glass, hardware, drainage, packing, labels and approval notes. The goal is to help buyers prepare a clearer project brief before asking for a factory quotation.
1. Use the sample to approve the real order direction
A sample is useful only if it represents the planned order. Before requesting one, confirm the frame system, color, glass direction, hardware finish, screen requirement and packing expectation. Otherwise the sample may look good but fail to answer the project question.
For builders and showrooms, the sample should help the buyer approve the look, touch, operation and quote scope before bulk production begins.
2. Check profile, finish and corner quality
Look at profile depth, visible frame width, corner connection, powder coating, anodized surface, gasket fit and drainage openings. The finish should match the approved color sample, not only a screen photo.
Ask the factory which visible details may change in the final project size. A small sample can show material logic, but large windows may require reinforcement, different glass or stronger hardware.
3. Operate the hardware like a user
Open, close and operate the lock several times. Check handle feel, lock point compression, roller movement, hinge support, screen movement and any rubbing sound. A sample should be checked from operation, sealing and hardware details, not just the front view.
If the final order includes large panels, ask how the sample hardware scales to heavier glass. The answer should connect hardware choice to sash size and glass weight.
4. Confirm glass, gasket and drainage notes
Glass build-up, spacer color, gasket position and drainage path are easy to overlook in a sample. Ask the factory to explain which parts match the final order and which parts are shown only because of sample size.
For exposed openings, drainage and sealing details should be reviewed before production. It is better to ask these questions at sample stage than after a full container is packed.
5. Record approval before production starts
After the sample is checked, record approved color, profile, glass, hardware, screen, accessory and packing notes. Photos with short comments are enough. The goal is to make sure the final order follows the same approved direction.
If anything changes after sample approval, update the quote and drawings before production. Clear approval notes protect both buyer and factory from avoidable confusion.
